Mid Century Wall Lamp

This rare old lamp has been completely disassembled in order to be able to clean it properly. Only then do you notice how complicated lamps were made back then. example is a fitting that had to be fixed with 2 screws but also with 2 square nuts.
Since the lamp is made of plastic and aluminum, there is no rust.
This lamp is completely original, including the back that has to be mounted on the wall. It also carries the old Philips logo sticker.

Made by Philips Holland in the 50's.
Designed by the Dutch architect and designer Louis Kalff.

For it's age in very good vintage condition.

Height - 18 cm. / 7.1 inch.
Lampshade Ø - 14 cm. / 5.5 inch.
Deep - 20 cm. / 7.9 inch.

Porcelain Edison screw-fitting E27 for a 40 Watt light bulb.
Fully cleaned and equipped with a new white electrical cord 290 cm. / 114 inch long.
(European two-pin power plug)
Overseas buyers can either change the plug or use a plug converter.

The Dutch architect and designer Louis Kalff (1897-1976) joined Philips in 1925.
He modernize the visual image of the company by designing advertisements and a range of electric products.
In 1946 he became Philips chief designer and head of the lighting division.
In this position he designed a large number of lighting fixtures.
