Philips 1960s design light

Vintage hanging lamp

Timeless design, a halved white metal cylinder with a larger orange metal cylinder around it, giving the light the shape of the lamp.

This light is fully cleaned and in good vintage condition, with only minor signs of use.

Original ceramic E27 Edison screw-fitting for a 75 Watt light bulb.
We recommend a 7 Watt. LED light bulb.
Fully cleaned and equipped with a new electrical cord, 160 cm. / 63 inch. long.
Because the ceiling cap was bad, it will be delivered with a new black plastic cap.

The Dutch architect and designer Louis Kalff (1897-1976) joined Philips in 1925.
He modernize the visual image of the company by designing advertisements and a range of electric products.
In 1946 he became Philips chief designer and head of the lighting division.
In this position he designed a large number of lighting fixtures.
