Mid century fishing rod light

Beautiful and rare glass lamp by Louis Kalff.
Completely modern 60s in Scandinavian style.
In good condition, chip on top of the violet/mauve shade.
Fully cleaned and equipped with a new electrical cable. Wooden wall piece has been sanded and treated with beeswax for a fresh look.

Fully cleaned with a new electrical cable 220 cm. / 86.6 inch. long with 2-pin power plug.

The Dutch architect and designer Louis Kalff (1897-1976) joined Philips in 1925.
He modernize the visual image of the company by designing advertisements and a range of electric products.
In 1946 he became Philips chief designer and head of the lighting division.
In this position he designed a large number of lighting fixtures.
