space age hanging lamp

Vintage pendant light

This rare hanging lamp is probably from HALA Zeist, a lighting company that was one of the leading companies in the Netherlands in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Everything was mainly made of metal, but plastic lamps were indeed made in the 1970s. Little is known about this series. This hanging lamp has many comparisons with a table lamp type 788 which is in an original HALA folder.
Since they are frigid, I am sure not many have survived.

Because the white plastic rings can be moved, you can change the model to your own taste.

Since it used to be very normal (in the 70's) to use 100 or even 150 watts. lamps and mirror headlights, a white cap around the fitting has become so hot that it has melted. Fortunately, no further melt damage. (see last foto )
