Fog & Mørup Pendent Light
Modern Danish Design Lamp
Iconic vintage light called "Corona" designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Morup.
The cone consists of two parts of aluminum, separated by a black coated belt that is colored orange on the inside.
Which then gives a nice effect when the lamp is on.
This lamp is completely original and in very good condition, while it has been hanging for 50 years.
Some small scratches, color is very beautiful, like this you do not see them often anymore.
The only thing I replaced is the cable, because it probably was not safe anymore.
This model has been produced for many years.
And this is probably produced in the first years, since it is screwed.
Probably the later models have been popped.
Year : Early 60's.
Condition : Good vintage condition.
Material : Aluminium.
Height - 45 cm. / 17.7 inch.
Dia - Ø 23 cm. / 9 inch.
This model has got a Edison screw-fitting (E27) for a 75 Watt. lightbulb.
Jo (Johannes) Hammerborg was born on 4 February 1920 in Randers, Denmark.
In 1957 he became head of design at Danish lighting producer Fog & Mørup.
Hammerborg was also a prolific designer, and the first six years of his 23-year reign at Fog & Mørup were the most creative of his career. In this period, from 1957 to 1963, he put into production 24 of the approximately 60 lights he would eventually design for the company.
Hammerborg died in a skydiving accident on the island of Bornholm on 23 July 1982.
